The benefits of tea.

We will discuss the benefits of each type of tea. Knowing that there are several varieties of teas in the world, we will address them by category.

They are distinguished by their degree of oxidation resulting from production and processing. Tea leaves take on a darker color when the oxidation rate is high. Each type of tea has its own aromas depending on the cultivar and the processing method.

In this article, we will first start with white tea. We will talk about other types of tea in upcoming publications.

Some health benefits of consuming white tea.

It lowers cholesterol levels, and it is also effective for weight loss. Improvement of oral health, fighting cancer. White tea is rich in catechins, antioxidant polyphenols. It also contains L-theanine, an amino acid. These active principles are water-soluble and pass into the water during infusion.

White tea is obtained by harvesting the buds as well as the first leaves of the bush of the plant called Camellia sinensis. The young shoots are delicately handled to be dried under the sun.

This harvest is done at the beginning of spring. The oxidation rate of white tea is very low and occurs mainly on the surface since the buds are not open. This is what makes the leaves provide fresh and floral aromas.

White tea is low in caffeine and contains a good amount of antioxidants. This type of tea is very popular among delicate tea lovers and people who are sensitive to caffeine.

There are some types of white tea produced in China and now also in India and a few tea-producing countries.

The Bai Hao Yin Zhen is a well-known white tea, the name means silver needle. The leaves have the shape of a large silver needle. This type of tea is infused with water at a temperature of 75 degrees Celsius for 5 to 7 minutes and even longer if one wants to obtain the maximum antioxidants.

There is another type of white tea, less expensive but still of good quality, Bai Mu Dan which means white peony. It is also called Pai Mu Tan and consists of a bud and two leaves. This tea is also harvested in spring. This tea must be infused for a long time like the majority of white teas.

We also have in our selection a so-called wild white tea made up of small buds that are harvested in the valley of Nan Mei. This tea offers a slightly lemony infusion that is both delicate and refreshing.

White tea is also found in the form of pearls, the leaves have been rolled into small balls and it has the same properties as Bai Hao Yin Zhen.
